Should I bother converting from a PR to a Singaporean? What are the pros and cons of doing this?

I been working for 8 years,
My wife and I been 2 years become Singaporean PR.

My friend convert to Singaporean for his family, to get HDB grant, cheaper stamp duty and for the kids.

My Singaporean friends said no need to convert to Singaporean as it is better opportunity and living in your own country.

I am bit confuse, should I?

If you planning to have kids, either u or yr wife can convert to SC to eligible for Singaporean household benefit, like education, medical benefit, etc...
