Thank you Seedly for providing such an amazing opportunity for everyone!
My resolution for 2021 is mostly on saving money and the one thing that is creating a huge hole in my pocket would be my university school fees. At the moment, I am relying on OCBC Education Loan to pay for my school fees. However, fees for Exams, Continuation Fees, etc. is coming out from my own pocket. Furthermore, I do not wish for my parents to pay as they are also coping with their own financial difficulties due to my dad's stage 4 cancer. Hence, I hope that Seedly will be able to help me fulfill my saving-cost resolution by sponsoring for my university fees. Once again, very thankful to have the opportunity to ask Seedly to help with my resolution!
I wish everyone good luck and hope that 2021 will be a better year for all of us! Stay happy and healthy all! :)
Hello, taking a leap of faith just like you mentioned.
Honestly, life since graduation has been all about grinding and farming more money. In the past few months, I've been settling my investment portfolio, insurance coverage and discussing with my financial advisor about retirement plans.
This has been nothing but DEPRESSING and it feels as if adulting has been all about chalking up numbers to save up for a comfortable inevitable demise.
This year, my resolution is in line with my view towards life. While I do feel that retirement planning and having a stable career is important, I also think that one should place more emphasis on enjoying the present. That's why in 2021, I want to set aside some $$ to focus on bettering myself in aspects that I feel is meaningful to me (probably exclusively), and not just concentrate about progressing in my career. Besides the same mundane "I want to earn $xxx by dec 2021", here is the crazy resolution which I want to work towards (p.s. if I told this to my Asian parents I'd be kicked out of my house with immediate effect):
I want to be recognised in the ESports scene- more specifically in Hearthstone, a game which i have been playing as a free to play player since army days ( close to 8 years now). I have only started paying to catch up with new game features when I've started work, simply because I no longer have time to grind for free resources.
Throughout these 8 years, I have reached the legend rank (usually at least top 5000 players) each month and I want to continue to be part this exclusive list of players even during my hustle. As part of this process, I want to bring the hearthstone scene in Singapore to greater heights. I see the current hearthstone environment in Singapore as quiet, with much room for improvement as the player base is huge. I envision myself doing this through streaming on Twitch and sharing my best moments on Youtube while gaming during my spare time.
This, however, takes alot of time and effort. Streaming is time-consuming and requires me to invest in my existing electronics and gaming equipment. In addition, Hearthstone as a game is getting more expensive and while I stay committed to this resolution, I will probably feel bad for spending an exorbitant amount three times each year ( yes- they suck your money during each expansion cycle). So will be nice if seedly can be my sugar daddy and support me :).
So yes, please don't judge and support thank you. Have an awesome weekend everyone and see you at the hearth.
2020 was a great year overall, much to adapt and improve but overall it was a good year :)
My New Year Resolutions in 2021:
Get married (which was postponed), and increase common fund to get ready for rennovation, family costs
Invest more time, energy and money into health and fitness (IPPT GOLD, here we go - $500 bonus goal) on top of LumiHealth $380
Invest more time into thinking about how the future could change and how to create value for that future
Learn to invest more of my overall net worth into a more balance portfolio which is more globally diversified
Learn to invest $10k into ultra high-risk asset classes, something new which I will spend abit of time looking into
Invest into some community activity to help some less fortunate people in Singapore, still a work in progress over the years.
2020 was a rollercoster ride, but Seedly want the craziest New Year Resolution for 2021. Lets not hold back then!.
My Resolution is to get a full time or part time job in IT related field so to build up my portfolio and gain experiences. My goal is to study Part Time Degree (Computer Science or IT) so i can get a better head start than others. Who knows, maybe Seedly is crazy enough to hire me in their IT or APP department as their internship or apparentice. I can learn while i study. Most CS or Programmer are self taught with online courses and resourses anyways . I work early, i get more earning power. With more earning power, it will be compound year over year. After graduate from my Part time Degree (who knows maybe seedly crazy enough to sponsor and sign contract with them), i get a better fresh graduate pay and more experiences. I will then have more capital to invest.
Well, I am a small retail investor, maybe can learn something from seedly colleagues too.
Thats my wish. Thank you Seedly.
PS : Thank you Seedly Community. I learned a lot about investment from your forum and Articles blog. I think it benefitted a lot of youngster like me.
Hello Seedly! Thank you for this opportunity!
So I'm a fresh A-level graduate and I really want to change how I lead life till now.
1) Read at least 1 book a month
2) Start making passive income by making YouTube vids and Blogging
or I can start by selling things!
3) However for 2 to happen, I need money so I'm aiming to earn 2k a month to save 500 in POSB SAYE account and use the rest to invest in the equipments I want to buy.
4) Exercise and healthy diet (me reusing this every year)
5) Have chocolate bars in my bag to give out to people whenever I see them working hard or having a rough day. (Spread kindness) ps. Hopefully that'll cheer them up! Cuz chocolate bars always works for me :D
Wish everyone a fruitful 2021!!! Peace out
In 2021 I hope that I can
Save $12k in 2021.
Take up digital mkting courses and also social media management course
Upgrade myself and start a side hustle to earn additional income.
To be more patient with my family.
Learn to invest more and to generate a passive income.
I want to increase my income so that I can increase the quality of life for my family and still save up for my future.
Thank you Seedly team! You've helped me so much in my financial journey 😊
I just applied for BTO in November last year, and my 2021 resolution is to save up at least $10,000 by end of the year. (May not seem like a lot, but I have a low salary and heavy debts) I do believe it is possible especially if I cut down on meals and maybe with side incomes!
My resolution for 2021 is to attain the Korea Candle Craft Association (KCCA) certification. I will be starting my small online business of handmade scented wax products at the end of January. By attaining the certification, I hope to create more higher valued products for my shop. The cost of the course is around $2K+ and not SkillsFuture credit deductible, so any form of support will be appreciated!
My 2021 resolution is to run charity bake sales to support animal shelter and rescue NPOs.
This would be a progression from my 2020 resolution. Last year I set my intentions to be a better baker and started documenting my progress and taking notes.
We adopted BoyBoy through an animal shelter and we are so grateful to have him. He brings us so much joy, and is our constant amidst these uncertain times.
A charity bake sales would be my way of giving back and for me to apply my acquired baking skills meaningfully.
If I win the giveaway, a Seedly shoutout, a Seedly collaboration, or a Seedly sponsorship would be the much needed push to step out of my comfort zone. Photo of Boyboy available upon request. :D
Happy New Year!
My new year resolution for year 2021 is to stay invested and earn a good profits for my future renovation fees, 能赚就赚 ！
Expand my circle of competence.
Learn how to use options as a tool to complement value investing.
Increase my frequency of writing. For learning, teaching, and reaching a larger pool of audience about value investing, personal finance, and life.
Wells not much I'll be able to achieve this year because I'll be enlisting. But that doesn't mean you don't have goals for yourself! I would like to have a platform that helps us connect w migrant workers or people struggling to just get thru this tough period. My big goal at the end of 2 years to hopefully make sure no ones goes hungry in Singapore. Aside from helping ppl, I'll hope to get into psychology in NUS OR NTU!! Mostly only i can do it myself but I would definitely love to try sitting a fighter jet HAHHA
My New Year Resolution is
Praying that @Noe Htat gets the support he needed from this channel.
Every struggle is real.
1) Get a house by end of this year
2) Pay back my mom/bank my uni fees
3) Buy this bag that I've been eyeing for a reaaaally long time (not the most important, but easiest to achieve as compared to the other two. But hey, a girl deserves to reward/pamper herself right 🤷♀️)
My new year resolutions are very simple but also very long-process. But I've gotta start somewhere!
I know that the economy is not very good but luckily my job is almost like iron rice bowl. Main reason is because my current job is draining all my mental health and I don't think what's remaining in me can last me through 2021 if I don't make any change. Rage quitting isn't my choice but I'm now learning to prioritise myself over others.
I'm a new bud in this, having zero finance background. I have a lot to learn but I'm looking forward to learn more from the Seedly Community on how to investment soundly and safely.
My strengths, my weaknesses. I should know best about myself and only can I make the best decisions for myself.
