Is buying fractional shares good?

I realised fractional shares is becoming more popular these days, with interactive broker offering them to make it easier to manage stocks by amount rather than units.

From what I've read so far it all sounds too good. Are there any disadvantages in buying fractional shares?

For example, EQQQ cost about $20,000, but with fractional share I could just buy a small fraction of it.
