I have multiple hospitalization insurance policies. How many policies can I claim if I really get admitted to the hospital? Am I wasting my monies paying for multiple hospitalization policies?

My parents purchased for me the AXA Prime Care 1 and AXA Prime Care 2 many years ago; I have since pay for them on my own. Personally, I am also covered by Integrated Shield Plan A + Rider. My company also covers me with corporate group hospitalization insurance.

Can anyone advise me the pros and cons to cancel AXA Prime Care 1 and AXA Prime Care 2? Thanks.

Hi Alexia

I suggest you are referring to AXA Primier Care 1 and Prime Care 2?
I would suggestion going through the product summary to see if
. There are obvious relevant benefit to the plan that compliment your current/future lifestyle
. If there are duplications, do they justify the extra premium
. Also, check out does your insurer offer alternative scheme now
Just take Prime Care for example, it has a lump sum benefit upon first diagnosis of cancer which may not be a feature in your other plans.
Health status change is another concern; each claims are assess upon submission, hence some may find their claims being rejected due to reasons such as
. A pre-existing condition
. A medical cost that is not part of the insured benefit.
Hope this helps, feel free to pm for further discussion [email protected]

Prime care with AXA is a hospital and surgical (H&S) benefit plan. So is your corporate plan. So is your integrated shield plan.
How it works is that your personal H&S policies will be claimed first, the corporate, then integrated shield plan as last claims.
Imo there's no need for a personal H&S locally as your corporate insurance and integrated plan can cover 95% co-payment only up to $3000 a year - according to new integrated shield plan coverage.

Unless if you are intending to work or stay overseas or getting a PR status overseas. Then you need that country's H&S coverage

In Malaysia their H&S policy covers Singapore jurisdiction too according to their limits.

So maybe that's the only reason to have a private H&S

Hey there!

In general, people will probably only need one personal hospital plan in their whole lif...
