How would you analyse cybersecurity and SaaS companies?

Given that cybersecurity and SaaS companies seem to be the rage, how would you recommend that a newbie investor analyse such companies before deciding to invest?

Tech based companies are harder to valuate in general. Look at their clients, orders, retain rates as a gauge of the strength of the tech companies.

Personally, for cybersecurity, I will look at their clientle base and see what are the brand names of company that uses their services. Track-record would definitely be another factor I'll take into account. Have their systems been hacked before? Any data breach from companies that employ their system?

SaaS companies-wise, would be how easy it is to torrent/crack their software. The ease of obtaining and converting it to piracy i.e. Photoshop vis-a-vis Bloomberg
