How much would you spend on wedding + renovation?

Do you think it’s okay to spend half of your savings on wedding + renovations (5room bto)?

We spent 6k on our wedding (not counting the angbaos we received) and would probably spend up to 60k in reno for a 5room BTO.

From a girl's point of view... unless that girl IS your gf, I'd say no it's not ok to shop for the engagement ring with another girl, even if she is the bff.

Depending on how much is your savings. If your savings is $100k, $50k in Reno and wedding seems fair or even too less to some.

my engagement ring costed less than $2k and I got it without my wife around. still prefer the feeling of surprise. :)
