    Hi anon,

Food delivery companies hate me. I don't spend a single cent on food delivery. I don't see that changing any time soon too.

Even say, for Pizza Hut delivery, which exists before the age of Grab and Food Panda, I only order it during special occasions (my mom loves curry chicken), but nowdays I just walk over to the mall to order take away from the Pizza Hut outlet there. And let's say, Arnold's Chicken, which I like, also has delivery, but I end up just detouring to one if I happen to be nearby, and just eat it in store. I find that if you order delivery, by the time the food gets to you, it's a bit cold and probably not as nice already.

Of course, when I'm with friends at their house, etc, and they decide to order delivery, I'll go along with it. But on an individual basis, getting me to install grab/food panda/deliveroo is more improbable than seeing cows fly.

    My wife however.....

(as a side note, they tend to spill her drinks, wrong order, hang the food outside the door without so much as a knock to let her know the food is here, etc. So much for service recovery too, when it's just a cookie cutter template response in their emails)

Hello, I spend around $120+ per month but that being said, I always purchase GrabFood or FoodPanda vouchers from platforms like Shopee and Zipster so it actually helps to make the food cheaper on food delivery platform.

Just recently last month, there was a promotion of 30% off GrabFood voucher on Zipster app which means I am paying $10.50 for a $15 voucher (you can include delivery fee too) thus actually some of the food that I order is cheaper or if not same price as when I eat at the physical location. Shopee most of the time have 14-16% off on the vouchers.

It is a pity that not many people know that they can purchase such vouchers to save on the delivery and platform fee.

A bit of context - I WFH since last year while my husband has to go back to office every day.
