I am considering getting a term multiCI plan topped up with a whole life + CI + ECI plan so that I can continue to get coverage after 75. However, due to budget constraints, I am only able to take advantage of the WL 4x multiplier from now (23 y/o) till 70. After that, my CI/ECI coverage will get bumped back down to 50k/25k. Will this be sufficient?

Hi, first of all, good job for taking the first step on getting yourself covered. If in any way this may help, from what I understand whole life plans have cash value, so when you turn 70 although yes your coverage will drop (due to multiplier expiry), it will not drop all the way to 50k/25k.
Next time when you have a pay raise, or higher financial capability, consider topping up your coverage to at least 5-6X your annual income to allow ample financial support for the average 5-6 years of critical illness recovery period.

I believe everyone has answered this query and also provided the needed information for you to make an informed decision; Some guiding principles have been mentioned here.
Making sure you have gotten the integrated shield plan & rider, where this will help you in subsidising your medical costs. More so in just 2 cash components, the yearly deductible and co-insurance. (Have you already gotten this prior to your WL?)
The guideline for how much to be insured for CI has been mentioned is 5x your annual income, as it's a medical guideline, if cancer patients are cleared for 5 years, they are considered cured.
My thoughts;
In regards to getting a term plan till 75, term would definitely be more affordable and yet provide high coverage for CI. Just wondering, would you consider extending that to 80 instead? Since the average mortality age in SG is 85, I think stretching it to 80 might be a 'safer' approach since you are concerned about CI.
