How do you know if you should invest or trade?

Is one more suited for a particular age group/available funds? What are some considerations that I should have when it comes to this?

Definitely depends on your risk profile, trading would definitely be riskier as you're entering a position because of technical indicators rather than the fundamental of the company. Best to have 2 pools of money, one to trade, another to invest

Trade if you can take risk and have a small capital.

invest once you have sufficent capital and want to be expose to lower risk

Have to know Your risk appetite. Trading is always for short term. But if you are not good at it, might lose alot money instead.

Short term profit = trade. Its like gambling. 50/50 chance i feel

Invest for long term - usually will do okay
