How can I increase my savings as a part-time student while working as a freelancer?

Hi, I'm currently 20 years old, working as a free-lancer (monthly income fluctuates quite a bit) and studying part-time.

I am giving my family a min. of $200 per month so sometimes I don't really have enough for savings since I pay the majority of my own expenses.
My boyfriend works full time, but I don't really wanna ask him to pay my share when we go out (not very often).
Any advice?

Hi! I've found that saving on a tight budget is super difficult, and if you really can't bring your expenses down then perhaps you could focus your attention on increasing your freelance income instead e.g. find ways to charge more or get more customers.
