Hi can i know how to buy gold shares in sg? Is spdr gold shares(087) etf a good hedge against volitlity now? The trading volume n bid volume seems low? Does it mean its harder to sell later on?

How do i go about buying gold shares in Singapore? Is it a good hedge against volatility, esp in the current Covid-19 context?

You can take a look at this article (https://blog.moneysmart.sg/invest/investing-gol...) on buying gold (physical, certificates, ETFs). There was a previous question on whether gold is a good investment, can look at that too.

Gold should not be used as a hedge against volatility. The investment instrument needs to have low fluctuation in prices regardless of good or bad economic situation. A good hedge for volatility is government bonds or treasury bills.
