The 5 pillars are dreams, goals, learnings, plans and actions. I will be taking time during this covid-19 situation to reflect on my dreams- whether they make me happy, excited, a bit scared, and make plans and milestones to reach my goals! This will hopefully help me better plan my career path!

5 pillars - Dreams, Goals, Learnings, Plans, Action - It's an interesting approach, thanks Coach Felicia and Clara.

Dreams: To offer practical solutions for enhancing business processes (maximise revenue, minimize cost) / for persons.

Goals: Short term - find opportunities to interact, find out about process limitation and issues, suggestion solutions and link up resources to them. Long term - to make it a ongoing relationship (not one time) with target company/person

Learnings: Also thinking of incorporating technology into these solutions but I am not trained in IT (e.g. programing, data anlytics).

Plan: To identify what are the available constrainst/pain points within job scope and company processes and share some insights with management. Hopefully later would be able to be like an independent consultant/coach to pass on the skill to others (haha, like Coach Felicia) in later years.

Actions: to attend IT, presentation skills courses during circuit breaker period!

The five pillars are:

DGLAP.

Dreams, Goals, Learning, Plan and Action.

How will I apply them?

  1. Dream - After my final exams, I plan to sit down and seriously think about my career. What are the hypotheses I have about various careers and what is achievable for me.

  2. Goals - SMART: To start of, I plan to reach out to 20 different professionals in the field of analytics and organize a short call with them. I plan to spend exactly 20 hours over 5 days to work on a personal analytics project.

  3. Learning - What do I want to learn? Beyond technical skills, big picture thinking and development of soft skills and networking capability. How? Linked to (2), where I am to craft messags for 20 professionals.

  4. Plan - Consistency is key. I plan to reach out to someone every 2 days, and followup 3 days after. I will use an excel sheet with conditional coloring. Beyond that, the body is the temple of the mind. I will continue on my habit of 15 pullups and 100 pushups daily.

  5. Action - heading to linkedin to reach out now!
