Do you use CPF for investments or CPFIS in your investments? How does it work to use CPF for investments?

Isn't CPF money that we can't use yet before we are in retirement age?

Hi Anon,

I use Endowus for CPF investment. I allocate 30% of the funds for investment in stocks and bonds. We should always evaluate the individual risk appetite based on your life stage and any liabilities before we make any financial commitment to investment.

It will be best to get in touch with them directly should you have any question on CPF investment.

  1. Check that you either have more than $20k in OA or $40k in SA as you are only allowed to invest $$ above those amounts.
  2. Consider carefully if you want to invest your money. OA account may be used for housing and education. SA is purely for retirement funds. OA 2.5% while SA 4%. Generally, consider OA to invest but leave SA alone.
  3. Set up investment account with DBS/ OCBC/ UOB. Now can just apply and answer questionnaires online. Back then I had to submit hardcopy form to dbs!
  4. Consider using endowus to invest. They require min $10k though.

Actually I think you can diy with your CPF bt I can't be bothered to search haha. Right now my CPF OA is invested in an ILP. I know a bit stupid but it's making double digits so far so can let it continue while I wait for my delayed house. Then I will redeem my units to lower loan amount. Once I accumulated $10k above $20k, I will use endowus to invest.
