Heard Hilton are currently selling Hilton points for 0.5 USCents, anyone planning to take advantage? Is it a good, worth it deal? Are there better ways to earn Hilton points other than buying them?
No plans to do so. Probably will wait for something better.
A great way to earn Hilton points other than buying them is through staying at Hilton properties. They sometimes have great promotions that allow you to earn bonus points for your stays. The bonuses stack so you can find yourself earning like 30 or 40 points per dollar spent sometimes. That's pretty good seeing that you're getting the points on top of the wonderful hotel rooms that you're staying in.
You nee to wait for a better promotion. A year ago hilton points was going for a lower rate (I am not sure how they plan their promotion).
If you get Amex card, you can get a free gold membership for Hilton, so you can get a better discount and extra perks thrown in when you book hilton with Amex.
Since Hilton moved to a dynamic pricing, Hilton points are not quite worth buying - cash rates usually have more value than redemption rates unless you're redeeming for the luxury properties.
You'll be better off just paying cash rates most of the times, especially when there's an ongoing sale.
