Anyone has thoughts about the Libra blockchain payments project? How will it affect retail moving forward?

Some interesting developments;

1. As laid out in their latest whitepaper, instead of introducing just a single coin, Libra (≋LBR), which is a digital composite of multiple currencies, they now are looking to work with central banks to issue single-currency stablecoins (for example, ≋SGD, ≋USD, ≋EUR, ≋GBP, etc.) on the Libra network.

2. Temasek has joined the Libra association.

3. The planned digital wallet from Facebook to hold Libra, Calibra has renamed to Novi. Novi plans to allow facebook/whatsapp users to send, receive, and pay in the Libra currencies.

With developments like Libra, we will see more and more adoption of digital currencies being used instead of physical cash or cards being used.
