With it's lower mid-range price, I was thinking the POCO M3 could be a good phone for senior citizens to pick up digital skills. 😊

The Poco M3 certainly looks like a good deal, just like many of the phones that Poco (and Xiaomi, by extension) produces. However, do note that those are US prices! SG early bird prices go for $179 (64GB) and $199 (128GB) - a $20 discount from the RRP.

Based on personal experience, I have found iPhones to be easier to introduce to elder folks who have little digital skills. Although nowhere near as cheap as the Poco, iOS offers a safer, more locked down experience as compared to Android phones.

There are a lot of Android malware in the wild that prey on gullible users through the use of deceptive advertisements, so user education is extremely important! Apart from that, it is also hugely important to educate them about the various scams out there, since with digital banking, there won't be an alert bank teller to stop them from sending their hard earned monies to a scammer in a faraway country.
