The 52-week money saving challenge can help you save $1,378 or more by the end of the year! Here’s how it works:
First week of the year, save $1
Second week of the year, save $2
Continue this habit till the end of the year where you end off with $52 on week 52.
More details here: https://blog.seedly.sg/52-week-money-saving-challenge
We can check back every week to track and update our progress while keeping each other in check HAHHAH anyone keen? :)
Hahaha how does this work!
I've previously tried to create a similar group last year but it died mid-year bcs nobody else is responding and only myself is doing the reminding 😅 so I ended up just setting a standing order and transferring money to my savings account automatically every week
Guys where are y’all saving your money I’m now putting it aside physically 😂
Week 1 (3 Jan) - $1✅
Week 2 (10 Jan) - $2✅
Week 1 (8 Jan) - $1 ✅
Week 2 (11 Jan) - $2 ✅
I do it another way... I set a goal like $1200. Then I print out an excel sheet that mimics old school 'tikam'. So I'll have 50 squares with the following breakdown:
20 x $10 = $200
20 x $20 = $400
8 x $50 = $400
2 x $100 = $200
So I'll try to strike off the hardest one which are the $100 and $50 then as and when I can, I'll strike off a few $10 or $20. When I complete the challenge early, I'll add on by the side and that becomes bonus. This way by the end of the year, I don't need to do a lot of calculation because it's all tabulated and the sum of money inside it should tally with my table.
I was trying to do this last year. Not very successful attempt. Haha.
