You will have at least a passable experience as long as:
You know what you are getting into (know your needs, do your comparisons, read reviews, etc).
You know how to say "No" when there are attempts to over-upsell.
I've had experiences with both. They were pretty nice. But I took a lot of control because I've been doing my homework.
Desirable qualities from them:
They were knowledgeable.
They were patient and answered all of my questions.
They gave me time to think (I said I will get back to them and I did).
They asked for the reasons for my decisions but they do not force me to answer. I was honest with them and told them anyway.
Little upselling. I believe it's their duty to inform clients of the variety of products available. However, they do not hog my time or compel me to make decisions on the spot. It's very appreciated.
