Worth taking short or modular upgrading courses from polytechnics?

Polytechnic short courses are way cheaper compared to universities. Are they inferior to those conducted by universities? Worth taking from polytechnic for skills upgrading?

Example: poly short course could be $500 but university one will be $1000 and above. After subsidies.

It depends on your needs and job demand.

For instance, some jobs require special certifications that are readily available from polytechnics. With this in mind, go for it since there is no need to spend the extra cost and effort.

However, some jobs value the depth of your knowledge and measure it through a degree. As a result, going through university may prove its worth.

All in all, it depends on your needs and the field that you are in. In any case, both courses from polytechnics and universities have their worth.
