Every investment carries with it some form of risk eg political risk, socio-economic risk, liquidity risk, credit risk etc. Do note that stocks have innately high risk compared to other forms of instruments such as bonds.

Political risks are one of the risks of investing in stocks whether local or foreign. Even in Local SG stocks there is political risk. What if SG govt changes? Trump was a huge political wave for US markets too. Every company local or foreign are linked by globalisation and changes in policies will affect them one way or another.
