Why is DBS and POSB not in Malaysia?

I saw OCBC NISP in Malaysia and Indonesia but realised that DBS does not even have a single branch in Malaysia... curious is it to do with the islamic banking policies?

DBS stands for Development Bank of Singapore. It was set up to take over financing activities for Economic Development Board and its main purpose was to provide loans and financial aid to the manufacturing and processing industries and to help establish and upgrade existing industries in Singapore.

DBS subsequently acquired Post Office Savings Bank which was set up in British colonial era.
