I have lived in HK and the US, my wife in the UK and the middle east and in none of these countries have a financial advisor ever bought up ILP's. Over here it's bought up all the time. Just curious why its so popular in SG.
Cos singaporeans are too chickened & risk-adverse in DIY investing, also explanined why we tend to favour real-estate investing.
So this create an opportunity for insurance companies to offer ILP which looked especially enticing when comparing to the ultra-low interest rates banks had to offer.
