Which whole life plan to go for?

I have 2 friends working as FC and after review my current situatio, both of them suggest me to take up a whole life plan, however one is working at GE , one at AIA. hence i want to compare both whole life plan, GREAT complete flexi living protect 2 and AIA guarenteed protect plus (III). with the coverage of 75k death, TPD, CI, ECI and x2 multipier until age 65, GE's plan cost ard $2.1k annually for 20years while AIA's plan cost ard $2.4k annually. which one should i get?

Hi anon,

I have no idea what your age is, but do know that you aren't limited to just AIA or GE, unless you want to support your friends (in which case, you would probably buy from the friend you like more?)

Consider other insurers too, before you come to a decision. (assuming that WL is your preferred choice, which is what I will base the rest of my answer on).

Frankly, AIA does have a very extensive coverage in terms of the covered conditions (since I counted them while looking at it for other clients), etc, but it does come at a higher cost. Other insurers are not too far behind however. Your question should be whether you are willing to pay that much more for increased scope of coverage (which are largely on CIs that are really not that common, but I can't say that no one in SG will get it) Or are you okay with paying lesser for a no-frills plan that covers pretty much the standard list of CIs at a minimum (along with their early and intermediate stages)? There are plenty of subtle differences between the plans too.

You may want to consider a second opinion from a 3rd advisor if you wish. After all, this is a commitment over the next 20 years and you'll want to contemplate carefully.

Whoa, bro. See which advisor's advice speaks to you the most. While you can generally save cost on this one-off purchase. I believe that without proper advice given subsequently, you will stand to lose so much more.

Also alot of other Seedly users will probably tell you to do a Term plan - but the emphasis will be on whether a whole life plan is suitable for you.
