Which roboadvisor allows us to have control over the ETF we want to invest in (for example only wanting to invest in S&P 500) rather than having to go through CDP account and brokerage?

I did ask stashaway something similar when I was playing around on their platform long time ago. You can't choose your own etfs to buy into and a portfolio is created for you roughly based on your risk profile.

Like what Elijah mentioned, if you want your own etfs you need to diy the portfolio.

Hi anon,

Robo Advisors will have a set of guidelines in order to determine your allocation to the pool of ETFs. Hence, you can't really control what kind of ETF your monies will end up invested in.

If you really want to retain control, you'll have to maintain it on your end, and not give it over to the robo advisor. Thus you will have to be the one determining your portfolio, its counters and the allocation. If this is really important to you, then I would suggest that you consider doing your own research and analysis in order to get yourself started.
