Hi Anon,
Yup, getting a credit card ASAP is one of the best moves you can make for your finances in the long run as long as you use it responsibly! I'm not very sure what you mean by "looking to fly once a year" - I'm assuming you mean you're planning to travel every year and want a good card to supplement that, rather than that you want to redeem miles for a free flight every year since that may be quite challenging as a fresh grad (with limited spending = limited miles).
I'd definitely recommend HSBC Revolution to earn miles and Citi PM for booking flights.
HSBC Revolution is an amazing miles card because it earns 4 mpd on a wide variety of categories, so you'll be able to maximise your miles earning rate. It also comes with 0 annual fees and a free mini version of Entertainer - allowing you to enjoy 1-for-1 deals at some F&B places.
Citi PM is a good card for booking flights because you can get free travel insurance. While many cards offer this, I find Citi PM's coverage is more extensive than most regular miles cards, ie DBS Altitude. Also, you'll be eligible for free lounge visits every year. If you use the card to book hotel stays, you may be eligible for even more benefits with the World Mastercard status of the Citi PM card at selected hotels.
Don't forget to make use of attractive sign-up bonuses before you sign up for any credit card - both Citibank and HSBC tend to have them, and some may even stack with SingSaver/MoneySmart promotions.
Hope this helps & all the best!
