Which country do you think it's best to retire in and why?

Personally also looking at Thailand. Increasing the population are more educated in English and/or Mandrain as 2nd language, therefore communication will not be an issue. Not too warm (similar equitorial climate) and not too cold. Choices to live in city ( eg BKK) or rural ( eg Chiang Mai) or beach towns (eg Phuket). Bangkok has very decent healthcare facilities. A friend had to be hospitalised during a holiday, warded into a hospital in the city which have very good facilities comparible to SGH.
