When would one get their home insurance and fire insurance?

HI'm currently waiting for my BTO, but I'm wondering when would one get their home insurance and fire insurance?

Should we get right after receiving the keys or should we get after renovation is completed?

I got mine with eTiQa on the day I collected my keys. They offered the option for 1, 3 and 5 years coverage. I took the max of 5 years so I don't have to be reminded to renew my insurance coverage.

Also, I bought a resale flat and began renovation 2 weeks after getting my keys. I wanted to be sure that my insurance coverage any issues during the renovation since I'm not there 24/7 to monitor the works.
