Analyst has been saying that a bear market is coming since last year but the market just keeps rising. If one were to stay out of the market since last year, they would have missed out on more than 50% capital gains.
thus, i still think that adopting a dollar cost averaging on an etf tracking a broad index such as the s&p500 or world index and not worrying about timing the market is the best way to go. time in the market beats timing the market. so just stay the course and keep buying every month even as the market hit new highs.
if you are really worried, apart from investing monthly, you can set aside some cash as a reserve. and if the market really crashes? activate this reserve and buy more!
hope this helps :-)
