When payments are made with Mastercard, do I have to wait till the end of the month to see if the amount was deducted?

Hi, I recently paid for some big-ticket items using my SC Platinum Debit card using Mastercard. the question is when I used Visa, OCBC or DBS automatically reduce my available balance in my account, but SC sent me a message saying 'a transaction of $... was made on your debit card', & when I check on my account balance, there was no indication that the amount was deducted. Do I have to wait till the end of the month to see if the amount was deducted?

The deduction should be reflected in 1-2 days after the purchase is made I don't really keep track but it won't be deducted immediately.
