When buying and selling resale HDB, is it better to do contra and use a HDB lawyer, or hire a private lawyer?

It depends.

If you use hdb loan, just use hdb lawyer and do contra.

Certain cases where you can't use hdb lawyer, then u have to hire a private lawyer such as when you want to utilise the funds from your retirement account and etc...

Using a HDB lawyer is more affordable than using a private lawyer. However, if you use a private lawyer, they can act on your behalf without you needing to go down to HDB during the completion date. Then again, HDB lawyer services are generally much cheaper.
