So here’s what happened... I’ve been at my company for about half a year. And I’m not really the type to have deep convos with colleagues, but the other day, I randomly got into a chat with one of them. Turns out we both invest, and we both use ibkr and tiger, so I thought, “Hey, let’s exchange some tips!” You know, learn a bit from each other.
So, naturally, we ended up talking about how our investments are doing, and yeah, I mentioned a few things about my returns and how I manage my finances. I’m not a rich guy, but I do treat myself to some nicer stuff sometimes.
What I didn’t notice was that there is one colleague, who’s known to be a bit of a gossip, was literally pretending to be busy while eavesdropping nearby. And now? I hear all these rumours going around that I’m some "rich investor."Even I heared some colleagues consider I am hooking up with some rich person. I’m like, seriously? I denied it, but the gossip hasn’t stopped.
Now I’m left wondering .Did I do something wrong by talking about money? Is it really a no-no in the office to chat about your finances? Or am I just being paranoid?
