What's the difference in selling with and without contra when using DBS Vickers?

On 30/01 I bought a counter in DBS Vickers using Cash and since I was making a loss, I sold the shares on 31/01 using Sell Contra.

Am I doing the right thing? When will it debit from my account? Debit the difference of loss or full amount?

What if I chose Sell without contra? Any difference?

Are you selling your holdings or selling contra? To my understanding selling your holdings on vickers will always reflect as sell contra, within 2 working days they will debit it from your CDP account.
You have to check if the amt of stocks bought vs sold tally, as you may end up shorting, which then you have a limited number of days (3 i believe) to stop short if not you will kena fine.

Best is to call vickers, their customer service quite fast
