There are countless of ETFS tracking the S&P500 in the market. So for simplicity, we can study those Irish domicilied ones which are more attractive with a lower withholding tax on dividends. Examples include:

• VUSA - Vanguard version in GBP

• VUSD - Vanguard version in USD

• VUAA - similar to VUSD, but the dividends are reinvested automatically.

Hence from the above, we can also have a choice of the currency to trade in, and if you wish for the dividends to be distributed or reinvested back into the funds.
