What is WSG's stand on the 996 work culture that surrounds some e-commerce companies?

While the retail and e-commerce sector booms, it comes at a price. Some companies are embracing the 996 work culture (employees are known to toil from 9am to 9pm, six days a week – or longer). What is WSG's or your personal thoughts on it?

Culture shock is the effect of migrating to a foreign nation with an unusual social milieu after being accustomed to one's own country, culture, family, and friends. Feelings of doubt, worry, and perplexity are part of this effect. Visit https://graduateway.com/essay-examples/culture-... to view essays about this topic. Despite how it may appear, culture shock is a common aspect of the transition that many people go through while relocating or traveling. Culture shock can be difficult, but those who can deal with their emotions and adapt to their new surroundings frequently get over it. Your inability to focus may make it more difficult for you to concentrate on your academic work.

We do not practise such culture as a SME, we try to advocate work life balance as one of the benefits to join our company. However, I have received WhatsApp chats from my key account manager at Lazada at 2am before those major sales campaign so I think the culture at the big e-commerce marketplace can be very competitive, KPI-driven and unforgiving. On the other hand, they pay high remuneration and provide other fringe benefits, which I think that a lot of young graduates will aspire for too. It really depends on one's threshold for pressure and the desire to strive as hard as possible.
