What is the risk involved buying fractional shares?

In the event if my brokerage film goes burst, will owning fractional shares be a disadvantage?

Or should there be any risk that I shld be aware of?

I don't think there's any disadvantage to the investor in owning fractional shares. The main downside I guess is it encourages smaller purchase sizes which could incur more fees in the long run if you end up making more purchases. But honestly, that's a really small thing anyways.
