What is the procedure to switch over to Tuas Power from SP?

I’m thinking of switching to Tuas power, what is the procedure? And will my SP deposit of $100 automatic transfer over?

Hmmm... that depends if you are coming over from SP or another electricity retailer.
If you are transferring over from SP

  2. Get read your SP bills so and choose to either sign up online at www.savewithtuas.com or call us at 68386888.

  3. If you are calling in for a sign up, you can clarify your doubts with our colleagues before signing up. They will assist you through the mandatory EMA Consumer advisory and help you understand the plan factsheet before signing you up.
  4. if you are signing up online, you will need to review the EMA consumer advisory and the plan factsheet before completing the form for the application.
  5. After that the sign up is completed, you will receive a soft copy of the sign up agreement via email.
  6. SP will send you a transfer notice 1 week before your account transfer date to inform you to take a picture of the meter reading and send via SP OEM Whats's app number. This meter read will be your transfer read. Some customers will do the read while some don't. Customers who do not will submit their meter read will get an estimated bill which may be higher or lower than their usual bill. Do note that these estimated read will be adjusted in the next meter read bill, therefore it will be normalised.
  7. Security Deposit will continue to say with SP, there is not additional required.
If you are transferring from another electricity retailer

  8. You will need to know your contract expiry with your existing retailer to sign up.

  9. Start by browsing through the plans and promotion available via www.savewithtuas.com or our Facebook post.

  10. Get read your SP bills so and choose to either sign up online at www.savewithtuas.com or call us at 68386888.

  11. If you are calling in for a sign up, you can clarify your doubts with our colleagues before signing up. They will assist you through the mandatory EMA Consumer advisory and help you understand the plan factsheet before signing you up.
  12. if you are signing up online, you will need to review the EMA consumer advisory and the plan factsheet before completing the form for the application.
  13. At date to transfer, select the next day after your contract with your existing retailer ends, to start your contract with us. So for example if your contract with your existing retailer ends 22 Mar 2021, you can choose the date as 23 Mar 2021 for the transfer date.
  14. Customers with another retailer not billed by SP will be billed 65% of the standard SP Security deposit (SD) collection in their first bill after transfer. The amount varies based on customer's residency, their household type and payment type. Do refer to this link for the SP SD collection details - https://www.spgroup.com.sg/faq?getQues=security...

  15. An account owned by a Singaporean or Permanent resident, paying by GIRO, staying in a 3, 4, 5 room HDB will normally pay $70 for entire SP security deposit. Therefore 65% of the standard amount will be about $45.50. These deposit belongs to a customer and will be offset for their final bill when their account is closed. Should there be any excess after offsetting final bill SP will return to the customer.
