I read in a forum someone said when he bought in-game currency through a google play game, it didn't earn any cashback on his card. So I'd like to check if in-app purchases from Apple app store games will qualify cashbacks and rewards for all my credit cards.

Hi Will,
Generally, I believe app store purchases/in-app purchases count as online spending. I'm not sure of the exact MCCs, or if there is a way to check the exact MCC for specific apps. If you're feeling uncertain and don't want to make any "wasted" transactions, I guess the only way to know for sure is to make a small purchase on the intended app and see whether it earns cashback.

Even the idea of buying games kind of puts me off. I donāt get why I should pay for games. What if I donāt like it? I guess thatās exactly why sites like Playhop exist ā for people like me, with a huge collection of browser games. Sure, itās not as cool as some brand new video game with a detailed plot and amazing graphics, but at least you donāt have to pay, and a gameās a game.
