In general, hospital plans work the same in that they cover hospitalization and surgical costs. You may need to get different insurers to submit a quotation to make a comparison. But ultimately, don't just go for a plan that's cheap. Look our for advisors who can service you well too. All the best!

With the way shield plans are revising premiums, the cheapest shield plan today may not be the cheapest come next year.
You should instead go for a shield plan based on your requirements such as the type of hospital ward you can go, pre and post hospitalization coverage, etc. Short of Aviva, which is quite expensive, most of the shield plans are roughly in line with each other, and they all function the same way, which is to pay your hospitalization bills.
