This % has to depend on one's age, risk tolerance and commitments. After setting aside an emergency fund and having the necessary insurance policies in place, a single individual no more than 34 yo may invest as high as 70% of savings in equities. If losed every cent invested, still have energy to restart/slog to earn back the funds.

Keep 10 months emergency fund and 30% opportunity fund in current market condition.
