What happens to your retirement plan if you outlive your savings?

There should be streams of income still earning $$$ while on retirement like dividend interest etc

Rely on a multiple income streams: firstly, cpf life from FRS already helps a lot; secondly, partial withdrawal from investments monthly to fund retirement at a 2 percent withdrawal rate, thirdly, withdrawal from cpf oa. All these will be enough. When a person is old, material needs matter less. You do not need $10000 a month when you are old. You need friends and family and a healthy body more. And to be healthy you do not need $10000 a month.

If you outlive your savings, then you don't have a retirement plan anymore. The one sliver lining is that we still have CPF Life which will give you some payout. Which is why if possible try to prioritise to at least hit your FRS.
