I noticed recently that HSBC Advance banking account is no longer available for application, and has been replaced with Everyday Global Savings Account? (though the HSBC Advance Credit Card is still available for applications)
Why did HSBC take away this account?

I think they simplified the account structure. Previously, you could apply for HSBC Advance (which came with a SGD account) and then also get Advance Credit Card. If you then were to apply for a Everyday Global Savings Account (EGA), you would get another SGD account along with all currencies supported by EGA.
Now what HSBC Advance is no longer offered, you can get the EGA which come with SGD account (+ EGA features) and you can also still get the HSBC Advance Credit Card. So you get best of both worlds.
Hope this helps.
