ICT as a sector is growing every day with technology in security, data analytics, machine learning and artificial intelligence. It is also expanding in this digital world to other sectors like Fintech with Financial sector, Edutech in Advertising, Martech in marketing and commuincations, IoT in Industrial manufacturing etc. Most of the demand in the ICT sector has been in either Cloud infrastructure, Cyberscurity, Artificial intelligence or Machine learning as non-coding skills, as well as coding in languages such as Python, Ruby, Java node.js etc

As someone that switched career paths right out of graduation into IT sector, I personally think ICT sector will continue to require more talent, at least in the next 5 years.
ICT is very broad with many roles and it really depends on what an individual likes/dislikes, and/or is more inclined towards. There are various videos on youtube that gives a glimpse into what each role entails. From there you might want to spend some time understanding and reading up on them before applying to one.
For more technical roles (e.g. could engineer, data analyst) , it would be best to acquire the required skills through courses.
For non-technical roles (e.g. business analyst, project manager), you might want to consider getting certificates.
