I want to try my hand in this as I've tried some products before and I like the results, just that I'm worried I'm unable to sell anything out. I don't intend to approach my family or friends.

Most of the products do not have research or article proving the effectiveness. These products are expensive and people who said they work is likely because of the placebo effect(cognitive bias).
Many small social media influences sell these products. They gain sales just because they are quite “popular” and many people trust them.
These micro business operate like MLM. The product is expensive which means the high commission the seller get.
Although it’s legal, it might not be ethical. At the end of the day, buyers are at the losing end.

So to stand out from the crowd it is advisable somehow provide value to the product which you are selling to your customers.
