What are your thoughts on prominent ministers like Goh Chok Tong and Khaw Boon Wan retiring from politics this GE?

Personally, I think it's a shame that these two are retiring but that also shows that there are people who they can hand over the baton now. Obviously they wouldn't be in the running forever but their work have been nothing short of stellar. Time for the next generation of politicians to shine. Just sharing my opinion, curious to know yours.

As the Chinese saying goes 长江后浪推前浪, the older ministers have to retire so as to pave the way for younger ministers to shine. Similar to how WP Chief Mr Low's retirement, I reckon they have accomplished what they set out to do in the first place. It is also important to ensure political candidates are refreshed so as to get fresh minds and perspectives to ensure Singapore remains competitive and keep up with times.
