Saw this particular comparison between the Wealthy and Middle Class in term of Budgeting (Comparsion based in USA). Just wondering is it really true and is it applicable in SG? Any opinions or suggestions?

Middle Class will have rather different opinions to what constitute to Needs as the Wealthy. The wealthy very often are able to get some "wants" for free, while middle class have to pay for most, if not all of their wants.
When it comes to budgeting, I could only comment on my own circle of friends and family. The older generation tend to put more emphasis on Investments / savings, and keep their wants to a minimum while the younger generation tend to put away little to no money for their future.
My current budget :
Needs : 30%
Wants : 16% (including education budget)
Investments : 54%
I intend to increase my investments budget progressively to 60%.
Singaporeans have CPF to fall back on, so tend to be rather complacent with their retirement plans in their younger years. Half of my nephews and nieces don't even have 6 months emergency fund put away, while the other half have a healthy investment portfolio.
