It depends on my investment objective.

If I am sitting on the fence, then I may consider options trading. In any case, my loss is lesser if done right.

If I have completed my research and is confident of my pick, then I will prefer value investing - spend more time now and save time later.

2 very different investment journey!

Value Investing is a long term journey for retirement (or at least 10 yrs and more)

option trading can be profitable within weeks (for the experienced) or lose your capital within weeks too..

both are very different creatures to learn
