Using Revolut in Singapore

So I got referred by my friend to sign up for Revolut to get the $25 referral reward recently and I'm wondering if I should give them a try. After I topped up $30 into the app and then transferred it into shopee pay, I did not top up anymore money there. Currently the free debit card i've ordered hasn't arrived too.

Since this payment wallet is not so common in SG, if there are any current users of it, do you mind sharing your experience with using it? Is Revolut more useful locally or overseas? I heard that it can be used for transport too. Any insights will be appreciated :)

A couple of uses and experiences.

Revolut has/had the public transport rebate according to the amount that you topped up to the account. So I am still using the card for public transport and getting the rebate monthly.

Amongst the rewards, Revolut does offer rebates for online purchases on Lazada and other sites. T&Cs apply for each site. The rebates for some sites are better than credit card or Shopback rebates. If you do shop on those sites, using the Revolut card can be a better option.

Revolut’s exchange rate is not too bad and they do not have fees for transfer for now. So it is good if you need to do transfer to and from your local bank account. And of course you can use the debit card for online transactions in foreign currency.

Do note that the rolling 12 months limit is SGD30,000 as set by MAS. So if you have to spend above that amount, you need to find another alternative.

And if you need to send foreign currency to anyone outside of Singapore, it is also possible to send money using Revolut.

Overall I like using Revolut… but I am hitting the limit.
