Will Sg and US ever have a tax treaty so that we won't have to pay 30% withholding tax for our dividends? If no, why not?

I wish I could tell you for sure whether Singapore and the US will ever have a tax treaty, but unfortunately, that's up to the governments of both countries to decide. But I can say one thing for sure, if they do, it would be a real treat-y! (get it? like tax treaty?...sorry, I couldn't resist a little pun there)

As to why they haven't yet, there could be a variety of reasons, such as differences in tax laws or political priorities. But let's hope that they can come to an agreement soon, so we can keep more of our hard-earned money in our own pockets!
