I'll be graduating in a year and I was wondering if it's still worth to get a student credit card to start building my credit score, or should i just wait until i go out to work? Would also appreciate some recommendations of the options available!

I myself currently have a student credit card now. I'm using DBS Live Fresh (the student version). However, I find that it is only useful when you use the card in the few stores they are eligible for 5% cashback for like McDonald's or for SimplyGo to travel, and to get a feel of what using a credit card is like (paying your credit card bills mostly). Other student credit cards have either a mere 1% cashback or offer less.
There is a much better way to spend your money as a student despite having quite the selection of student credit cards. The rewards given on student credit cards just doesn't cut it for me compared to other methods like using GrabPay to topup to JiPay and then using JiPay to do your contactless transactions. This can effectively get you up to 1.2% (approximate GrabPay points to cash coversion as Platinum member) + 1.5% cashback on JiPay. That's 2.7% on any contactless transaction which is a superb cashback rate for a student.
If you want to open a JiPay account, I can provide my referral link for you so we can get some rewards. Let me know if you need it!
