I think that is the million dollar, or well in the case of a number of unicorns the billion dollar question.

A number of brokerage (Interactive Brokers Lite, E-trade, Robinhood etc), and for that matter advisory platforms and multi-currency cards to name a few in the FinTech space have gone to zero fees as a way to attract customers to begin with while providing a premium offering with other features for which a charge will be there.

kristal.AI, for example, provides zero fees up to an amount of 50k USD for any client who wants investment advice but post that amount or for that matter to access premium Kristals (trading strategies) there will be a corresponding charge.
